In 2017, Rick Nichols and Lou Primak partnered to purchase Agate Steel, and have since grown the steel fabrication business into a thriving entity. With over 60 years of combined business and construction expertise, Rick and Lou’s passion for fabricating unique steel structures has grown immensely.

Who We Are

Utilizing a state-of-the-art, AISC certified 50,000 SF production facility and 8-acre yard to produce fabricated steel, we strive to exceed our customer’s standards in a timely manner. Our fabrication division employs 80 dedicated welders and administrative staffers, demanding quality and customer focus as our #1 priority.

From our 3rd party detailing staff working in CAD/CAM and other technologies, to our highly trained fabricators machine operators and welders, to our experienced estimating and management staff, Agate Steel can fabricate almost any steel structure.

Safety at Agate

Safety is a number one priority at our Scottsdale fabrication facility and administrative office, as well as at all of our commercial, industrial, and federal on-site fieldwork locations. We pride ourselves in delivering year after year, EMR rates that are well received within the construction industry.

In 2020 Agate received an “Award of Honor Recipient” for our Captive Insurance Company, Newcon – evidence of our strong commitment to our Agate Safety Program and Culture.
