Agate - About Us

AGATE was founded in 1973 by Jim Uhl, current President and CEO. AGATE’s strength is the range of its experience as a general building and engineering contractor, as well as it’s SDVOSB and GSA contract. From site-development through turn-key building construction, AGATE provides high quality buildings and engineering projects, meeting the needs of a wide variety of clients.

Jim graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1965 with a BS. From there he enlisted in the Marines, where he served in Vietnam. He founded Agate in 1973, and enjoys being part of a vital company that is still growing and thriving over 30 years later.
